Our Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Philosophy
As a purpose-led, values-driven organisation, we believe having a positive impact on the planet and its people is crucial, to create a better world for generations to come.
This is embedded in our overall business strategy, as we follow a clear plan of action to be an ESG leader in the global travel industry. Our core pillars of people, data, and technology, are forging a path to creating an environmentally sustainable business that positively contributes to society.
Our Commitment to Sustainable Business Practices
CarTrawler is proud to announce it is B Corp certified, joining a global community of like-minded companies dedicated to driving positive change.
Certified B Corporations meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This certification reflects CarTrawler’s commitment to sustainable business practices which are outlined below in more detail.
Environmental
Every business, regardless of size, has a responsibility to take urgent action to combat climate change and its associated impact, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We want to be a guardian for future generations by taking credible steps to become carbon neutral.
As such we’ve been working to achieve this through a number of initiatives including having sustainability as a core principle in our new office design, launching a trial of electric and hybrid cars in the Nordics, Netherlands and France, and much more.
Other initiatives we have in development include our creation of a supplier engagement strategy to become an ESG leader in the industry, the introduction of hybrid working across the business to reduce unnecessary commutes, and accurately measuring our carbon footprint to help create a roadmap to carbon neutral.
Social
People are at the heart of everything we do and are integral to ours and our partners’ success. That’s why we’re committed to empowering our people and helping them grow by creating a work environment that provides a positive work-life balance with ample opportunity for personal and professional development.
We also know the diversity of our workforce is our biggest strength, so we’re dedicated to being a responsible and responsive employer for all our employees. But these initiatives don’t start and end in the workplace – we’re also devoted to positively impacting the communities in which we operate.
We’ve already been working to achieve this through our inclusive company-wide equity scheme, training 40 employees as Mental Health First Aiders, introducing a half day on the last Friday of each month (Friday Unplugged) for a mental health break, and promoting work-life balance through our hybrid working policy.
We have seen a substantial reduction in our mean gender pay gap, decreasing to 18% in 2023 from 29% in 2022. Representation of females within senior management has also improved, increasing to 42% in 2023 from 28% in 2022.

Governance
On our journey to creating an environmentally sustainable business that positively contributes to society, we appreciate this must start at the top. And so our Leadership Team and Board are driven by a desire to demonstrate strong corporate leadership that prioritises people and the planet – not just profits.
Some of the key actions we’ve taken to support this include a new anonymous whistle-blowing tool, a risk register issued and reviewed annually by our LT and Board, appointing our first female Non-Executive Director, and introducing the Navex Risk Rate Due Diligence system to risk assess all suppliers on an on-going basis.
To further our progress, we have worked hard to achieve B Corp Certification to ensure continued commitment to transparency and governance.
