Former Paddy Power Chief Executive Joins CarTrawler as Chairman

Aug 12, 2015

12 August 2015, Dublin, Ireland: CarTrawler, the leading online travel-technology platform, has today announced the appointment of Patrick Kennedy, former Chief Executive of Paddy Power plc and current Deputy Governor of Bank of Ireland, as non-executive Chairman.

Patrick Kennedy served as Chief Executive of Paddy Power plc, the international betting and gaming group, from 2006 to 2014. During his tenure, the company expanded significantly in existing and new markets. Turnover grew from €1.4 billion to €7 billion, profitability increased more than five-fold, staff numbers increased from 1,400 to 5,000 and, by 2014, the company was generating almost 80% of its profit online and across international markets.

Before joining Paddy Power, Patrick was Chief Financial Officer of Greencore Group plc, having previously been Group Development Director. Patrick has also worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company in London, Dublin and Amsterdam, and with KPMG Corporate Finance both in Ireland and the Netherlands.

Patrick brings with him a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable to CarTrawler. It is testimony not only to our achievements to date but also recognition of the potential for future success that we can attract someone of Patrick’s pedigree to our business. We are looking forward to Patrick joining the Board and supporting the leadership team with insightful counsel as the business continues to expand.
